‘SAVE THE F#$%ING RAINFOREST’ : A SUSTAINABLE AND INNOVATIVE ALTERNATIVE TO PALM OIL

C16 Biosciences launches their first product called ‘Save the F#$%ing Rainforest’, an alternative to palm oil.

C16 Biosciences has made a major breakthrough in the beauty industry with the launch of its first consumer product, "Save the F#$%ing Rainforest,". This product that contains Torula oil, a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to palm oil.

The New York-based company's "Palmless" platform aims to develop products that are free of palm oil and palm-derived ingredients.

It will help mitigate the negative impacts of the $64 billion palm oil industry.

Through the launch of this limited edition skin oil product, C16 Biosciences hopes to inspire other beauty brands to incorporate Torula oil and other bio-designed ingredients in their product formulations.

The company believes that the beauty industry has failed to address the palm oil problem adequately, and this product launch is a way of protesting against the industry's lack of meaningful action.

Shara Ticku, the co-founder and CEO of C16 Biosciences, explained that Torula oil is a luxurious and world-class ingredient that they wanted to introduce with a world-class, high-performing formula.

“Our brand stands for change, and this product is our protest to the industry,” says Shara Ticku, co-founder and CEO of C16 Biosciences.

“The beauty industry has struggled with the palm oil problem for nearly a decade, but has failed to show meaningful action...Palm oil doesn’t need to be a problem anymore...Let’s work together to save those precious rainforests before it’s too late.”

The oil is composed of USDA-certified biobased carotenoids such as beta-carotene and torulene, as well as sterols that are only found in the fungal kingdom. These antioxidants have the potential to promote skin barrier function and maintain healthy and glowing skin.

Shara further emphasized that Torula oil is not only nourishing and deeply hydrating. It also showcases the possibility of launching beautiful products that meet the highest sustainability standards by leveraging biodesign and biotechnology. She urged the beauty industry to work together to save the precious rainforests before it is too late.

Overall, C16 Biosciences' launch of "Save the F#$%ing Rainforest" is a significant milestone in the beauty industry. It’s an example for other brands to follow by demonstrating how sustainable and traceable alternatives to palm oil and palm-derived ingredients can be formulated in compelling products across different applications. The company's commitment to developing such alternatives is a step towards addressing the climate challenges, environmental, and societal issues posed by the palm oil industry.
