Stress and anxiety cause skin problems. There’s a field in dermatology called Psychodermatology explores the connection between our mind and skin.

You might find it interesting to know that our skin and our brain come from the same embryonic origin. Skin is directly connected to the brain/central nervous system. When we are under stress, stress hormones are released in the body by adrenal glands controlled by Central HPA Axis, but they are also locally produced in the skin by skin cells via Skin Peripheral HPA Axis. Our skin's vast amount of nerves also secret neurotrophins, SP, and catecholamines when we are under stress.

Above stress-induced skin responses cause premature ageing, dehydration, sensitivity, redness, inflammation, skin barrier problems, etc and in severe cases even cause skin disorders such as psoriasis, rosacea, acne, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis etc.

Can you share with us your motivation behind developing your brand?

I founded Peace & Pure after going through a challenging time in life, which lead to mental health challenges and caused my skin issues, that’s how I first discovered the mind-skin connection.

I want to integrate mental wellness into Beauty through Peace & Pure, to raise global awareness about the mind-skin connection and to redefine beauty beyond superficial appearances, but it's a reflection of our holistic mental and physical health and wellbeing.

I also want to create a community to offer support. One major intention to create Peace & Pure is to offer a community to like minded people support, warmth and care during their life journey in beauty and wellness, which I missed the most during my trying times I felt incredibly alone and unsupported, that there isn’t a commercial brand with products I use daily to give me that feeling.

I’d like to invite people to join our community, where we will share wellness inspirations, skincare tips and knowledge, and a community that shares similar values towards natural and holistic beauty and wellness.

As mentioned earlier, to support our customers beauty and wellness journey and offer wellness inspiration are at the core mission of Peace & Pure.

We developed this first edition of our beauty & wellbeing series, as we see the need to present helpful information and inspiration for their emotional wellbeing, and alongside offering the best skincare products is the best way for supporting their beauty.

It contains information about mind-skin connection, self-love, our favourite rituals for self-care and inner peace, advice on journaling, and self-resilience, skincare tips etc. We also included interactive sessions where you can reflect and journal down your thoughts for each topic, to deepen your awareness and lead to better results.

What does the future look like for Peace and Pure?

We are launching 5 new products next year featuring a very special complex contains ingredients at the forefront on mind-skin connection research, it helps to stop, prevent and recover from stress induced skin issues as I mentioned above from it root cause.

Apart from this we have lots more initiatives in the pipeline which will see the world soon in the next couple of years.
